The countdown is on
an advent adventure
I can’t believe it’s already November! Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and that means Christmas will be here in no time. Let the countdown begin!
Last year when I was looking for an advent calendar for my girls, I just couldn’t find one that I loved. Then I remembered the year my mom gave us a small gift every day leading up to Christmas. As a little girl, I thought that was just the coolest. So I decided to give the girls the same experience.
I did not want to spend a lot on their advent gifts, so I hit up the dollar spot and found other cheap gifts for them at various stores. Items included a gingerbread squishy, a santa popper, coloring book, fake nails, stickers, bubble gum tape, jelly beans, you get the idea.
I wrapped them all up in different papers, added ribbon, and then added a gold glitter number to each one so they knew what day to open what.
We had picked up a couple of small trees from Target for their room decor, so I put some of the gifts in the trees themselves, added some ribbon to the trees, and began counting down to the after school surpirse. I love an after school surprise! I love making their jaws drop. And I love creating these memories with our girls.
